The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) was incorporated on the 22nd April, 1966 at Calcutta to foster the development of welding science, technology and engineering in India and since then has been serving the cause of the welding industry through its 13 branches / chapters throughout India. The institute is a non-profit making organisation registered under Section 25 of the Company’s Act 1956 and is also registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961, as an Institution for charitable purpose. Through its various activities and programmes, IIW-India is now recognised as the premier Institute related to welding in the country with over 4500 Individual and Corporate Members. Further, as a member society of the International Institute of Welding, it is helping to project the importance and achievements of the Indian Welding Industry to the global community.
The students’ chapter of IIW-India has been constituted to meet the following objectives:This chapter was established in the year of 2019. 30 students were taken individual membership and they have participate in various events. One event named welding camp 20-21 was organized for students and 7 lecture was conducted in this event.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 28,780 HVAC&R professionals and Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.
ISHRAE has more than 190 student chapters at many colleges throughout the country. Students interested in an HVAC&R career are encouraged to participate in ISHRAE to further their knowledge, practical experience, and professional development.
This chapter was established in the year of 2018 and 50 students are involved in this chapter. Almost 10 different types of event was conducted under this chapter.
The Solar Energy of India (SESI), established in 1978, having its Secretariat in New Delhi, is the Indian Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES). Its interests cover all aspects of renewable energy, including characteristics, effects and methods of use, and it provides a common ground to all those concerned with the nature and utilization of this renewable non-polluting resource.
The Society is interdisciplinary in nature, with most of the leading energy researchers and manufacturers of renewable energy systems and devices of the country as its members. High academic attainments are not a prerequisite for membership and any person engaged in research, development or utilization of renewable energy or in fields related to renewable energy and interested in the promotion of renewable energy utilization can become a member of the society.
Solar Energy Society of India invites attention to all Engineering Colleges/ Polytechnics/ University in the country for opening of New Students’ Chapter.
This chapter was established in the year of 2017 and 54 students have taken initial membership. One international conference was conducted with the help of SESI and ministry of renewable energy.
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The strength of ISTE is the strong base it has in technical education institutions in the country. At present, the ISTE has a very large and an effective membership base consisting of 124024 Life Members, 5 lakh Student members, 2734 Institutional Members, 1369 Faculty Chapters, 1479 Student Chapters at institutional level and 17 Sections at State level.
The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organisations.
ISTE student chapter was established in the year of 2014 and most of the program was conducted in the college level. Department of Mechanical Engineering was organized several types of program regarding guest lecture , technical Event etc.
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines with a Corporate membership of over 2 lakhs, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades. The IEI has its headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than hundred Centres and several Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.
Department of Mechanical engineering was started this chapter in the year of 2012 and the Privileges of Student Members attached to student Chapters of Engineering College
1) Opportunity to participate in technical events e.g. Seminar, Symposia, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by IEI State/Local Centres.
2) Participation in various Technical Activities of the students’ chapter.
3) Access to library facilities at 121 State/Local Centres of the Institution across the country.
4) Opportunity to meet fellow engineers for professional interaction.
5) Reimbursement of travelling expenses to students selected for presentation of technical papers in Technicians’/Students’ Convention.
