B.Tech. in ECE/EE/EEE with minimum 60% marks
We, at ABES EC strongly believe that the holistic development of students is possible by focussing on core areas which are -Concept based learning and comprehensive Industrial Exposure. We are nurturing our students according to their areas of interest. Students are groomed and trained in accordance with their domain identified through a psychometric test, interview with mentor and HoD(taking into account the family background of the student) conducted at the second year level.Firstly, we are providing concept based learning to our students. To achieve this, we have highly qualified, experienced and dynamic faculty members, highly competent lab staff, 11 state of art well equipped advanced Labs to meet the curriculum and industry requirements. Further, we are also having a no. of centres of excellence for– Wireless & sensor, VLSI and Robotics which are funded by different funding agencies.
For improving teaching learning process, we are having an advisory board that includes experts from IITs, NITs and reputed industries. Similarly at 4th year level, students are required to develop three types of major projects like consultancy projects from Industries, application based projects and research based projects.
Secondly, we believe that without minimising the gap between Industry and academia, we cannot make our students globally competent. Therefore, looking forward in this direction we have taken a number of steps such as- We have developed an Employability Enhancement Cell (EEC) which identifies the interest and domain of the students , divides students into four major domains- IT field, Microelectronics, Operation & Maintenance, Designing Devices, Sales and services.
Thirdly, we have set-up an Industrial Academia Relationship cell (IARC) whose primary purpose is to identify the skill set desired by industries and training students accordingly through in-house training programs, involvement in consultancy projects.
Further, we have been able to establish MOUs with more than 10 core electronic companies. Our faculty members and students are working on core projects received from industries. Over the past few years, we have been successful in fetching consultancy projects based on problem statement of various Industries. Additionally, we have incorporated Technology transfer and Placement assistance by signing MOUs with our Industry partners.
Finally, I am happy to say that since we are providing concept based learning, good quality of training and projects from industries, our 100% students are in a position to fetch jobs from reputed companies.

Yes, there is an award policy for top performers (attached in the college repository)
There are six broad areas from which an individual can opt for job:
1. IT Field
2. Electronic Designing Field
3. Devices & Circuit Field
4. VLSI Field
5. Sales & Service Field
6. R & D, Govt. & Academic Field
The department initiates the process of making students “Industry Ready” from 2nd year
onwards:
1. From 2nd year :- The technical domain of the students is identified and as per their
interest they are provided training
and guidance. They are motivated for pursuing research and work in live industry projects.
They are further mentored for
publications and patents in upcoming semesters. In academics the students are classified in
slow and fast learners. The
slow learners are provided extra classes to make them comparable with fast learners. They
are provided with Concept
booster classes by senior faculty members.
2. From 3rd year:- The focus is on training and is more channelized. At this stage, a
training tracker is introduced for
tracking their progress. All the students have to publish technical papers in conferences or
journals. The students are
provided Concept booster classes by senior faculty members to enhance their
knowledge.Simultaneously, the students are
provided placement related guidance. Exhaustive Mock HR and Technical Interview sessions are
conducted rigorously.
3. From 4th year :- The primary emphasis is on the placement of students. In this
direction,the placement coordinators keep
a constant track of each and every student’s placement activity. Before the placement drive,
the department organizes
presentations based on company’s profile, purpose of recruitment, expected domain and job
profile along with the
briefing of placement process. Discussion on the expected HR & Technical interview questions
is held. A Placement
tracker is maintained that monitors and records the details of the interview process which
is analyzed further and
effective steps are taken to enhance the skills of the students for the upcoming interviews.
The average package in latest completed placement year is Rs.4.25 Lacs.
Highest package in the placement in previous years is 26 lacs.
Yes, there is an established system mentor – mentee program at departmental level where 20 students are allocated to a faculty member. The faculty remains their mentor till they graduate from the college. The mentor looks after each and every activity related to academics, discipline, training, placement etc. The parents are informed about their wards progress through the mentors. The students are counselled on regular basis in every area where they need guidance offered by senior faculty members and HOD of the department.
The selection of final-year projects typically depends on a blend of institutional guidelines, individual interests, career goals, and available resources. Faculty members often suggest project topics aligned with their areas of expertise. Students can either select from these predefined topics or propose their own ideas for approval. They frequently form teams with complementary skill sets, such as expertise in coding, documentation, or hardware, to efficiently manage various aspects of the project.
The students are motivated to attend seminars/ conferences where they can publish research papers. The students in final year are required to publish two papers related to their project. For this purpose, the students get financial support from the college.
In order to address student related issues and grievances (pertaining to academics & individual problems) department has constituted a Department Grievance Cell comprising of HOD and senior faculty members. The student can register his/her grievance in the above-mentioned cell. The concerned students are called for a meeting with the grievance cell and the matter is investigated. The concerned student is counselled by the team in order to resolve the matter depending upon the intensity of the problem. The grievance cell tends to resolve the matter at the earliest by means of prompt investigation followed by psychological counselling and regular follow ups.
