Masters in computer applications add a specialization to a graduate profile. There are a lot
of careers after MCA that
one can take on. Students can opt for further studies depending on their interests. It is a
great option to polish their
knowledge and skill set. After completion of a postgraduate degree in computer application-
• Students can apply for a Masters in Engineering in computer science.
• Students can opt for a Ph.D.
Department scheduled the classes for valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) as
well as NET classes as the
score is needed with an MCA degree to take the admission for higher studies.
While pursuing the Under Graduate/ Post Graduate Engineering/ Management/ Pharmacy programme
students often need
mentoring, guidance, and counseling from a loving elderly figure.
Yes, MCA established a mentor-mentee system at the department level.
The process has been established as a ‘Mentoring System’. Each faculty will be the mentor of
a group of 20 to 25
students.
The mentor will perform the following functions-
• Meet the group of students at least twice a month and continuously monitor, counsel,
guide, and motivate the students
in all academic matters. • Advise students regarding choice of electives, project, summer
training, career guidance,
etc.
• Contact parents/guardians if the situation demands e.g. academic irregularities and
negative behavioral etc.
As MCA- postgraduate students, they will be required to write a project towards the end of
their studies/course. Before
writing their final year project or paper, they will have to come up with project topics and
discuss them with their
mentor. Having the ability to develop a good project topic is a big plus. Students’
respective mentors or professors may
assign them a specific topic, but most times students will require choosing their own topic
of interest.
Here are some things students have to do when choosing project topics in MCA-
• Look Around for ideas
• Avoid Over Used topics
• Read General Background Information
• Remain Focused on their Topic
• Make a List of Useful Keywords
• Define their Topic as a Focused Research Question
• Formulate a Thesis Statement
Research means to carefully analyze the problems or to do the detailed study of the specific problems, by making use of special scientific methods. Many factors motivate students to learn and attend the seminar/ conference or publish the research papers. The teacher’s role in motivation includes, but is not limited to, creating an environment conducive to learning. The teacher’s role in encouraging support of students’ autonomy, relevance, and relatedness of the material increase motivation to learn. Additionally, the teacher’s ability to develop students’ competence, interest in the subject taught, and perception of self-efficacy are all important factors that influence students’ motivation to learn.
Grievance Redressal Committees have been constituted desperately in respect of staff and students with senior faculty and HOD-MCA and staff as members of the respective committee. The grievance of the individual will be given a fair and reasonable opportunity to be heard in detail before the HOD-MCA and other members of the concerned committee in a peaceful and conciliatory environment depending upon the issue if need to be, appropriate evidence in the form of material evidence or personal witness may be introduced by the aggrieved person. The HOD-MCA, in constitution with the member(s) will submit the reported principal, at the earliest possible time. All the proceeding of the Grievance mechanism will be suitably documented and recorded.
